ES CO acts as the cultural hub for the city of Como and its environs.  On the ES CO website details of all the cultural events planned for summer 2011 can be found.

2011’s rich calendar of events covers everything from music to movies,  entertainment to theatre, as well as the arts and brings summer in Como to life for both tourists and the local population.

The organisers of these events want people to get out on the streets of Como at night so they can see what is going on – which is a lot.  Summer evenings in Como will be buzzing with live music and this will surely enhance the city’s already charming atmosphere.

On offer will be Italian and international pop music, from jazz, to soul and r’n’b, as well as rock and classical music. Concerts will be held in Como’s Piazza Cavour and Piazza Volta.

As well as the lively musical calendar, there will be two film festivals: 35mm under the Sky in Piazza Martinelli, and At the Cinema with an Archaeologist at Como’s Civic art gallery. Villa Olmo Park and other locations around the city will host the Como City Music Festival events .

Other cultural events on this year’s calendar in Como include: Boldini and the Belle Époque hosted at Villa Olmo until July 24, the Review of Marco Cingolani until September 12.  There will also be an architecture exhibition at the A Ratti Cultural centre until 7 July and this will be followed by an exhibition of visual art until September 12 at which art expert Susan Hiller and her staff will be present.
