George Clooney, adventure at Lake Como
Everybody knows about George Clooney’s love for Italy, but now it has become even bigger since he has started going out with Elisabetta Canalis. The picture of them on his motorcycle has circled on all the local gossip-magazines and is famous everywhere.
They met each other in Rome at the end of July, while Elisabetta was working on a program on MTV during the World Swimming Championship. They met on the terrace of the Hotel Majestic during a dinner organized by friends in common. From that moment onwards they have been inseparable; their love story soon went round the world and of course got to Lake Como also, where George spends his summer and where he took Elisabetta for a romantic weekend.
We believe that Clooney has bought so far four villas at Laglio, and the most famous one is certainly Villa Oleandra, located in Vergonzano. It is surrounded by a wonderful garden that goes down hill, ending in the lake. It was year 2003 when George talking to the magazine People, said “It’s the best place I have ever seen. After a weeks holiday here you cannot think to live elsewhere”. And then he bought Villa Oleandra for 10 million dollars with its 25 rooms and lake view. George is enthusiastic about the beautiful landscape, the culinary tradition and over all about the local people.
Laglio has around 900 inhabitants and they all seem to have welcomed well the American actor, who has done everything to be appreciated. He even bought a small beach next to his property, renovated it making a new terrace and pontoon and donated it to Laglio’s residents. Even if there are people who say that it was only a way to make publicity, Clooney with his lovely smile is one of the nicest people of Hollywood.
It can be for this reason that “Eli” has found in him her ideal companion. Recently she has claimed not to want to lose anymore time with wrong relationships and to wish to have somebody at her side that gave her peace. Lake Como is the background of a new love and we are all sure that she will be treated like a queen.
