In Como, from 29 October to 18 December 2011, the former church of San Pietro in Atrio will host an exhibition of the work of artist Valentina Perazzini, the winner of the third edition of the Co.Co.Co. Como Contemporary Contest.

CO.CO.CO. Como Contemporary Contest 2011

Born in Rimini, Italy in 1987, Valentina Perazzini won the Co.Co.Co. contemporary art contest with her Leaves of Books installation. On display will be Perazzini’s latest pieces, many of which have been inspired by the work of American poet, essayist and journalist Walt Whitman.

The Co.Co.Co. Como Contemporary Contest is contemporary art competition organized by the culture section of the Municipality of Como. The contest’s objective is to uncover and promote the talent of young artists and to help the artists concerned become an artistic benchmark for future generations.

At the same time as the exhibition of Perazzini’s art, in the Spazio Natta, the works of the 19 other Co.Co.Co. contest finalists will also be on show. The art on display covers many artistic genres: from painting to photography, sculpture to installation, and from video art and to computer animation. All of the art works on view will be included in the catalogue which accompanies the exhibition.
